Thai Massage
Thai Massage is an ancient and powerful method of healing that combines deep compressions, acupressure, and passive yoga stretching to restore total balance for body and mind.
Colleen has achieved Advanced Certification in Thai Massage and Traditional Thai Foot Massage.
Are you looking for a way to help your body recover from strenuous exercise or joint pain? Maybe you’ve tried a Swedish or Deep Tissue Massage but are looking for something different. While traditional massage techniques employ kneading and gliding motions, Thai massage takes a different approach. Think of it like yoga…except you don’t have to do any of the movements yourself. Performed on a traditional massage table, Colleen will move your body into a series of stretches while stimulating your muscles, working on joint mobility, and using acupressure techniques.
Thai Massage also incorporates energy work which opens up the blocked channels and creates an open balanced flow of energy throughout the body. The result? That “ahhhhh” feeling that lasts beyond the moment you get off the table.
Thai Foot Massage
A relaxing yet invigorating treatment of the feet that has been greatly influenced by China and India and their reflexology systems that are thousands of years old. When Thai met Chinese reflexology, they softened the technique making it more pleasurable in a wide variety of relaxing techniques to offset the deeper work of the Chinese approach. The result is a blend of reflexology, Thai acupressure points, and energy line work.
Similar to the meridians of traditional Chinese medicine that carry the Chi energy, the Thai energy lines (Sen) run throughout the entire body with specific points ending at the feet. The disruption of this flow of energy is thought to be the cause of illness or discomfort. The techniques of Thai Foot Massage are thought to stimulate and open these channels. A variety of hand-on techniques include graceful palm movements, stretches, circular massage movements, and thumb pressure to stimulate organ reflex points on the soles of the feet. Clients leave the session feeling relaxed, balanced, and invigorated.
